Job Summary:

The VP Data Science will oversee the day to day operations of the Data Science team.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Manage the commercialization strategy of poll question data and other data for the Insights / Research business 
    • Strategize with Insights business leadership on whether / how to meet the market for users of 3rd-party data platforms (e.g. Tableau, Power BI)
    • Formulate / evolve packaging strategy for Custom, Syndicated, and Pseudo-data
  • Manage the data ops for the Research Business
    • Develop playbooks for scenarios such as rising volume, falling volume, improving shape, Worsening shape
    • Develop meta-data / pseudo-data plan(s) 
  • Formulate the role(s) of question data for the Media Business:
    • Facilitating modeling
    • Merging with meta-data / pseudo-data
    • Making market matches
  • Interface with Product Management of both the Research and Media businesses to optimize data collection, management, and packaging across both businesses
  • Evaluate potential data-in and data-out partnerships for both businesses
  • Manage corporate Data teams
    • Data Science
    • Data Strategy
    • Data Ops
  • Strategize with Corporate, Insights, and Media leadership on planning and executing international expansion as it relates to data acquisition and usage

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • At least a bachelor’s degree in a field of study including data science, market research, computer science, or statistics, but more experienced candidates will be preferred
  • 5+ years of data science experience and a demonstrated record of successful data science team leadership, preferably in the consumers insights / consumer data field or the adtech field
  • Skill and experience communicating with senior leadership
  • A working familiarity with software development management (especially agile) and related workflow systems (e.g., JIRA)
  • Operational machine learning experience preferred

Education and Experience:

At least a bachelor’s degree in a field of study including data science, market research, computer science, or statistics, but more experienced candidates will be preferred
